Closing out this week's NYC Food Film Festival, The Lowcountry Oyster Roast will be a all-you-can-eat party not to be missed.


We've all felt the panging feeling of jealousy and frustration when watching food network personalities and actors dig into delicious, mouth-watering dishes on the TV screen. Food porn, as seen on TV, Movies, and print, affects us all. The inability to eat exactly what's being waved in front of your eyes is agonizing. The annual festival is coming to NYC on October 17th for a five-day foodie-film extravaganza. At each of the six special events, guests will watch an array of excellent food-centric films as chefs prepare the same dishes being featured on the screen. This 4-D movie experience will leave you full and fully entertained. To wrap things up in NYC, the Food Film Fest will host an epic all-you-can-eat Lowcountry Oyster Roast. So if you can't make it to all the festivities, be sure to at least take advantage of a VIP oyster experience with unlimited oysters and drinks.


Wednesday, October 17th:
Single Malt Whiskey: The Islay
New York Distillery, Williamsburg

The films: Whiskey: The Islay Edition, The Benevolent Butcher: Bacon, Cook Book. Tasting of whiskey from eight distilleries from Scotland with a special tasting menu by Chris Rendell of Highlands Restaurant Group.This event is SOLD OUT. Only access available is with a VIP pass.

Thursday, October 18th:
Farm to Film to Table: Meat Your Butcher
7pm AMC Village 7, East Village

The films: Meat Hooked!, Farm to Table, Farmer Poet Sustainable meat butchering paired with fine wine from Frei Brothers Winery and food by selected NYC restaurants including Northern Spy Food Co. and vegetarian options by Dirt Candy.

Friday, October 19th:
I Heart Japan

The films: New York Cooks for Tohoku, Ramen Dreams, Tako NY, Sushi: Handcrafted Happiness, Kasadela Izakaya: The House That Chicken Wings Built. Watch the world premier of New York Cooks for Tohoku featuring Chefs Boulud, Bouley, Telepan, and Paynard while the star of Ramen Dreams, Chef Keizo Shimamoto, prepares his world-famous ramen for the first time in the United States. In addition to an evening of food and film, there will be a special performance by The Sundelles and a chance to meet Food Porn Star, Larry Cauldwell.

Sunday (evening), October 21st:
The Lowcountry Oyster Roast
4:30pm IndieScreen, Williamsburg

The Films: The Mud and the Blood, Mickle’s Pickle, and Mama Sugar’s Sweet Potato Cobbler. Sit back and watch the debut screening of The Mud and the Blood during an all-you-can-eat Bulls Bay oyster roast. Chef Robert Stehling of Charleston’s Hominy Grill will cook up delicious, classic Lowcountry dishes to compliment your oyster intake. This oyster extravaganza will close out the Food Film Festival and leave you counting down the days until next year. VIP passes to this event are SOLD OUT everywhere else.
